Smart Ambient Light User Guide

Thank you for purchasing our products. Please read this user guide carefully before use. It contains the necessary safety advice and operating instructions — follow them to avoid damaging the product through misuse. Please check that the product is in good condition when received.

How to Use

Please install the base onto the product host in the following way before use:

Align the base hole (see Fig. 1) with the host hole at the bottom (see Fig. 2), push the base in securely (see Fig. 3), then tighten the screws with a screwdriver to complete the assembly.

Product Functions

1. The product supports both phone app control and host button control.
   • Manual mode: Press the host buttons to control the light colors and other functions.
   • Bluetooth mode: Use the phone app to control the light colors and other functions, and customize the device power on/off time.
2. Within the effective Bluetooth range (about 7 meters), two ambient lights can connect automatically and work synchronously. If the app fails to find the devices when you own several of them, long press for 5 seconds until the white lights flash twice to reset the host; the devices will then pair again automatically.
3. Rhythmic mode: The ambient light picks up external sounds through its "mic" and creates rhythmic effects according to the surrounding sound.

Host Buttons

1. Power — Long press 3 seconds to turn the host on/off. Once powered on, the ambient light defaults to multi-colored lights in rhythmic mode. Short press to change colors: light green → light blue → yellow → orange → purple → pink → white gradient → red → green → blue → multi-colored jumping mode, in cycle.
2. Mode (M) — Short press M to choose the lighting mode: keep-on → breathing → rhythmic. Under breathing or rhythmic mode, long press M to choose the light changing way: bottom-up / middle-side / top-down, in cycle. (Keep-on mode cannot adjust the light changing way.)
3. Brightness — Short press to cycle through 4 brightness levels (100% → 80% → 50% → 20%). Long press to reset the device (white lights flash twice).
4. Type-C Port — Power input DC 5V/1A (max: 2A).

App Operating Instructions

Bluetooth Setup

1. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone, otherwise the product cannot connect.
2. Download the app by scanning the QR code below.

3. Or search for Smart Night Light on Google Play (for Android) or the App Store (for Apple iOS) and download it. See Download the App for more help.

Register and Log In

1. Open the Smart Night Light app.
2. Log in with your account and password. On first use, you must register a new account.

If you have trouble at this step, see Unable to Register and App Permissions.

Add a Device

Connect the ambient light to power, open the app home screen (Fig. 1), and tap Add Device to open the Product Selection screen (Fig. 2). Choose the product and the app jumps to the Find the Device screen (Fig. 3). Power on the device and keep it close to the phone so the app can identify it; when the pop-up appears (Fig. 4), add the device.

Power and Rename

Tap Smart Night Light to open the device screen. Touch to turn the LED light on/off. Customize the product name with at the top-right corner.

Timer and Countdown

Tap at the top-right corner to schedule the device to power on/off automatically.

Tap to open the countdown function. When the device is on, tap Confirm to start a countdown shutdown. When the device is off, tap Confirm to start a startup countdown, and tap Close to cancel it.

The Three Main Interfaces

The app has three main interfaces: the Light interface, the Mode interface, and the Customize interface.

A. Light Interface

The Light interface has 1) a color palette, 2) recommended colors, and 3) brightness adjustment. It only changes the light colors; the way the light changes depends on the mode and light changing way selected on the Mode interface.

• Color palette: Touch the color palette to display the color picker. Click or drag the picker to change the light colors. The recommended colors cannot be selected while you are adjusting the color palette.
• 8 recommended colors: multi-colored, light green, cyan blue, bright yellow, sun orange, violet, pink, and white gradient.
• Brightness adjustment: Adjust the brightness of the light.

B. Mode Interface

The Mode interface has 1) dynamic light effects, 2) mode selection, 3) light changing ways, 4) light changing speed, 5) light color switching speed, and 6) sensitivity.

• Dynamic light effects: Show the corresponding dynamic effects based on the selected mode and light changing way.
• Three modes:
  1. Keep-on mode: The ambient light stays on. This mode can only adjust the light color switching speed.
  2. Breathing mode: The ambient light breathes. This mode can adjust the light changing way (bottom-up / middle-side / top-down), the light changing speed, and the light color switching speed.
  3. Rhythmic mode: The ambient light reacts to external sounds. This mode can adjust the light changing way (bottom-up / middle-side / top-down), the light changing speed, and the sensitivity.

C. Customize Interface

The Customize interface has 1) custom colors and 2) recommended light effects. It starts with no custom color. When you have several custom colors, slide to see all of them. Up to 8 custom colors are available.

• Custom color: Tap + to add a custom color, or tap the edit icon at the top-right corner of a selected custom color to edit it.

• Tap name to rename the current light effect, tap delete at the top-right corner to delete it, and tap save at the bottom-right corner to save it.

Custom Color Modes

There are two custom color modes: solid color mode and multi-colored mode.

Solid color mode sets solid color groups for the whole ambient light. Click or drag the color picker to change colors. There are four color changing modes:

• Static: Choose one color; the whole ambient light shows that single color.
• Jumping: Choose 2 to 8 colors to form a color group; the ambient light shows them one by one with a jumping effect, in cycle.
• Segmented gradient: Choose 2 to 8 colors to form a color group; the colors are split equally and the ambient light gradually shows each segment, in cycle.
• Full gradient: Choose 2 to 8 colors to form a color group; the ambient light shows them one by one with a gradual effect, in cycle.

Under jumping or gradient mode, tap + / − to add or remove color circles. Tap preview to preview the current effect for a 10-second countdown, and tap x to cancel the preview.

Multi-colored mode sets the color of each LED bead. Click or drag the color picker to change the color of the selected color circle.

• Select all: When no color circles or only some are selected, tap select all to select every color circle, or to cancel the selection.
• Color transition switch: When on, each LED bead shows its selected color; when off, the ambient light gradually transitions from one color to another.

• Color circle group: Each color circle has two states. The colors include red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, and white. Tapping a color circle selects that color (drag the color picker and a highlighted tick appears). Tap it again to cancel the selection (the tick disappears).

Tap preview to preview the current multi-colored effect for a 10-second countdown, and tap x to cancel the preview.

Troubleshooting — Cannot Connect to Phone Bluetooth

1. Check that your phone's Bluetooth permission is allowed and Bluetooth is on. (On Android, also allow location access and turn location on.)
2. Check that the ambient light is powered on and within the connection range (0–10 m).
3. Check that the app is connecting to the correct product model, BL-FWD01.
4. Check that your phone's network is working normally.
